Sonali e-Wallet is the smart banking mobile app of Sonali Bank Limited. Sonali e-Wallet is the Smart Banking Mobile App of Sonali Bank Limited, the largest state owned commercial bank of Bangladesh.

You will get notifications on your latest activity; see your transaction history, transaction summary etc, on your smart phone also SMS & Messanger. Sonali e-Wallet is soon to bring very exciting and innovative services in the market to meet customer needs and demands.

Sonali e-Wallet Terms & Conditions


The terms and conditions set forth in this agreement explain your rights and obligations, the Customer (user), and us (Sonali Bank Limited), in connection with your use and our services related to eWallet. All terms and conditions of this agreement are legally binding, so we advise you to please read them through carefully.

1. These terms and conditions apply to Sonali Bank Limited eWallet Services. These Terms and Conditions operate in conjunction with the terms and conditions applicable to Account(s) the customer access using these services including the opening of any new accounts. If there is an inconsistency, these terms and conditions prevail.

2. To be eligible to use eWallet services, customer must maintain at least one CASA (Current & Savings Account) with the Bank. However, eWallet services will allow the customer to access more than one account. The Bank reserves the right to deny access or to limit access or transactions or to revoke access to eWallet services without advance notice to you at its sole discretion.

3. All registered customer of the eWallet service shall enjoy Fund Transfer facilities by default.
4. The Bank reserves the right to change, cancel, and extend any part of the Service from time to time. The Bank shall notify the User of the changes through the respective website, if the Bank feels necessary.

5. Upon the Customer's registration for the eWallet Service, the Bank will provide each Customer with User Name and a temporary password (Password) through registered email and Phone Number which will allow the person to access the Customer's Account information. Once the Customer logged on through a correct Password the system will not request for any further authorization for any transaction except for 2FA transactions until he/she logs off and later logs in again. We recommend the customer to change the password after the very first log in to eWallet Service portal.

6. Customer acknowledges that username and password will verify customer's authenticity and therefore customer will be responsible for all transactions and instructions initiated through eWallet by the use of the correct username and password which are very confidential information. Customer is therefore responsible for safeguarding username, password as well as access to the mobile number, email address registered with Sonali Bank eWallet. In this regard the following are expected from the Customer:

a. Customer must take care not to choose the password and Security PIN Code that is likely to be guessed by anyone trying to access the Service pretending to be the Customer.

b. Customer must take all reasonable steps to ensure that the username and specially the password are safeguarded at all times, whenever possible. Customer may not disclose any details of the password to anyone else, even to a member of Sonali Bank Limited staff or someone giving assistance on a technical helpdesk in connection with the Service. It should be clearly understood that bank employees do not need these confidential information for any reason whatsoever. If the User discloses this confidential information to anyone or fails to safeguard their secrecy, the bank shall not be liable for the consequences.

c. Customer must not record the username and password in a way that could make them accessible or recognizable by someone else.
d. Customer must ensure at all times that the mobile number registered with eWallet is accessible and operable only by him/ herself and none other.

e. Customer must ensure at all times that the e-mail address registered for the purpose of eWallet is also accessible and operable only by him/ herself and none other.

f. If customer discovers or suspects that the Username and Password or any part of it is known to someone else, customer must immediately change this by him/ herself through eWallet. If this is not possible, customer must notify Sonali Bank Limited immediately (Must provide Support Number or mail ID) or eWallet Help Desk Numbers. Sonali Bank Limited shall suspend use of the Service until new password or Security PIN Code has been set up.

g. If mobile number registered for eWallet is lost, misplaced or stolen, or customer loses accessibility of mobile in any other way, customer must immediately notify Sonali Bank Limited or eWallet Help Desk Numbers.

h. If e-mail address registered for eWallet is changed, closed, hacked or customer loses accessibility of e-mailbox in any other way, customer must immediately change the e-mail address by him/ herself through eWallet. If this is not possible immediately notify Sonali Bank Limited by calling Sonali Bank Limited Call Centre or eWallet Help Desk Numbers.

i. If customer becomes aware of any transaction on any Sonali Bank Limited account linked to eWallet username that was not validly authorized by customer, or of any activity or attempt to access eWallet by known or unknown people, then customer must notify Sonali Bank Limited immediately by calling Sonali Bank Limited Call Centre or eWallet Help Desk Numbers.

j. Customer must not allow anyone else to operate the Service on customer's behalf.

7. While using eWallet, i.e., during an active session, Customer must not leave the System unattended. Customer must log-out before leaving the System.

8. Customer must not access the Service using any computer or other device which customer does not own, without the owner's permission to do so.

9. When logging in to eWallet using public, shared or someone else's computer, Customer must take care and use the on-screen keyboard to enter password or Security PIN Code as an additional security measure.

10. Customer must comply with any rules, procedures and security measures as required and advised by Sonali Bank Limited from time to time.

11. Customer must ensure that the system he/ she is using to access eWallet is adequately maintained and that it is free of any errors, computer viruses, spyware or other malicious programs.

12. Customer is liable for all losses and expenses due to unauthorized use if Customer has acted fraudulently or, with gross negligence, with intentional misconduct or if Customer is in willful default of any of the security obligations stated in this agreement.

13. The Bank shall not be liable if any fraudulent activity occurs with the eWallet Account of the Customer.

14. The Bank may perform regular maintenance on its systems or equipment's which may cause interruption of Service. Unavailability of Internet Connectivity service from the vendor may also cause interruption of Service. Considering the technical difficulties, security threats and/or disasters, Sonali Bank Limited reserves the right to discontinue the eWallet Service until resolution of the problem(s).

15. Bank shall be responsible to preserve the user's activity log only for the last one year according to the use of eWallet Service.

16. Customer is solely responsible for the maintenance, installations, configuration and operation of his/her Computer and the required Programs used in accessing the eWallet Service.

17. The Customer may access the Bank accounts through the eWallet Service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Transactions, that are executed by the User after the cut-off time of a working day or on public holidays and 1st July and 31st December being Bank holidays, will be posted with the value date of the next working day.

18. The management has right to impose/modify charges at any time. If any charge is imposed/modified, the Customer shall be informed immediately through the respective website.

19. The Customer expressly agrees that use of the Website is at its sole risk. The Website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Bank does not warrant that access to the Website and eWallet shall be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error free nor does it make any warranty as to the results that may be obtained from the Website or use, accuracy or reliability of eWallet. Bank will not be liable for any virus that may enter the User's system as a result of the User using eWallet. Bank does not guarantee to the User or any other third party that eWallet would be virus free.

20. The Bank shall not be liable for any late or incorrect transfer of funds or any consequence thereof or any other loss, damage, claims or proceedings that may arise as a result of the Customer's failure to intimate the change in writing to the Bank in proper time.

21. The Customer hereby agrees and confirms that he/she shall not use this eWallet facility for money laundering or to violate any law related to the money laundering. The Bank reserves the right to demand explanation from the User within 7 working days regarding any matter pertaining to money laundering law of the Country.

22. This Agreement is subject to all applicable operating circulars of Bangladesh Bank, Sonali Bank Limited and any other applicable provisions of Laws of the land. This Agreement shall be binding upon and inure to the benefit of the parties hereto and their respective legal representatives, successors and assignees.

23. If any of the terms in this agreement is determined to be unlawful or unenforceable, the term will be severed from the remaining terms which will continue in full effect.

24. The Bank management has the right to modify/extend these Terms & Conditions.

25. Either party (Customer or Sonali Bank Limited) may terminate this agreement by giving 15 days notice to the other party. Any operation made within these 15 days should be deemed to have been done by the customer. If Sonali Bank Limited terminates customer's access to e-Wallet it reserves the right to immediately stop making transfers or payments from customers account (s) including those customers previously authorized.

Sonali Bank TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR CHEQUE BOOK


Rejection of Bank cheque on account of insufficient funds is a punishable offence
The Negotiable Instruments Act, of 1881 provides for imprisonment of the issuer of the cheque not exceeding one year and/or a fine of up to three times the amount stated in the cheque in case of rejection of a bank cheque due to insufficient funds. The steps to be taken to seek legal remedy in this regard are as follows:-

  • Within 30 (thirty) days of receiving the news of cheque rejection due to insufficient funds from the concerned bank, the payee of the valid cheque must submit a written claim to the cheque issuer.
  • Failure to pay the amount stated in the cheque by the issuer of the cheque within 30 (thirty) days of receipt of demand shall be deemed to have committed an offense punishable under section 138 of The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
  • A case has to be filed by the payee of a valid cheque in the competent court within 01(one) month from the date of the commission of such offense is punishable offence.
  • Cheque book charges will be deducted as per bank's circular.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR Income TAX Return(PSR) Upload


  • Client will upload PSR as per Money Act 2022 & related circular of NBR.
  • PSR means Proof of Submission of Return.
  • Type of PSR like as per Money Act 2022 & related circular of NBR.
  • Money Act 2022 & related circular of NBR. will be available at Website: nbr.gov.bd
  • PSR upload time period will as per Money Act 2022 & related circular of NBR.
  • Charges of PSR Upload will be as per bank circular.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR Declaration of Form C & ICT


  • Client will fill up form as per guideline from Bangladesh Bank.
  • Amount will depend on as per Bangladesh Bank circular.
  • Declaration of Form C or ICT at a time depends on as per bank circular.
  • Guideline will be available in bb.org.bd
  • Charges of Declaration of Form C or ICT will be as per bank circular.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR CARD


In this Agreement, the following words shall have the respective meanings set out hereunder unless the context otherwise requires:
Bank means Sonali Bank Limited, its successors and assigns.

  • Agreement means the 'Terms and Conditions' along with Sonali Bank VISA Debit Card Application Form.
  • ATM means any Automated Teller Machine or Terminal belonging to the bank that accepts cards along with PIN for cash withdrawal.
  • Card means any Card bearing the name of Sonali Bank Limited issued to the Account holders for use on their Accounts and includes any such issued in replacement or renewal thereof, to avail cash withdrawal services or POS transactions.
  • Sonali Bank Debit Card means valid VISA Cards issued by Sonali Bank PLC.
  • PIN in relation to any Card means Personal Identification The number assigned by Sonali Bank to that Card that will be used for accessing the Cardholder’s nominated bank Account(s) through an ATM.
  • Cardholder where used in raltion to a Debit Card means Sonali Bank Account holder to whom Debit Card has been issued at his / her request.
  • Customer means the Account holders of Sonali Bank stated above.
  • Card Transaction means any transaction or instruction effected or issued by the cardholder by the use of the card.

Sonali Bank Visa Debit Card


Sonali Bank Visa Debit Card' is the property of the Bank at all times. It is non-transferable and will be used exclusively by the Cardholders.

The Bank reserves the right to seize/cancel the card so issued to any cardholder if the information submitted by the Cardholder is false and/or the card is being misused if found at a later date.

The Bank reserves the right to limit the total cash withdrawal or goods and services purchased at Visa authorized merchants by the cardholder during a 24 hour period.

Upon termination of account relationship with Bank for any reason whatsoever, the Card shall be returned to the respective branch or Sonali Bank Card Division within 7 (seven) days from the date of receipt of notice thereto.

Use of the Card after notice of withdrawal of the privileges is fraudulent and may subject the Cardholder(s) to legal action by the Bank.

FACILITIES THAT CAN BE AVAILED WITH SONALI BANK DEBIT CARD


The Card can be used for: Availing Cash withdrawals from Sonali Bank Branch locations or the places where Sonali Bank ATMs are deployed.

ATM Establishment displaying the Visa Logo and Q-Cash Member Banks ATM Locations or POS transactions for goods and services obtained from Visa authorized merchants in Bangladesh by the use of the Card.

LOSS OF CARD OR DISCLOSURE OF PIN


The Cardholder shall not disclose the PIN to anyone. The Cardholder will be liable to the Bank for any and all transactions made by the use of the Card and hereby agrees to indemnify the Bank for any losses or damages howsoever caused by any unauthorized use of Card or PIN, unless the Bank has received notice in writing of any loss, damage, or theft of the Card or disclosure of the PIN prior to any unauthorized use of the Card or PIN for this purpose, use of the Card by a person who obtained possession of the Card with the consent of the Cardholder constitutes authorized use to the Card.

Notwithstanding the loss or theft of any Card or disclosure of the PIN in respect of any Card, the Bank may charge and debit the Account for the amount of each and every Card Transaction made or affected before written confirmation by the Cardholder of such loss, theft or disclosure is received by the Bank. Replacement of Card will be provided to the Cardholder and charges in this regard will be debited from the account.
 

FEES AND CHARGES SONALI BANK DEBIT CARD


The bank will charge and debit the customer's Account relating to any Card-

  • An annual service fee and VAT for the issue or renewal of the Card at such rate as the Bank may prescribe from time to time without notice.
  • In the event of replacement of the card due to whatever reasons as requested by the cardholder, a replacement fee will be charged to the account as prescribed by the Bank management.
  • In the event of resetting the PIN, a fee will be charged to the account.

TERMINATION OF USE OF CARD AND ACCOUNT



The Card shall not be valid and the Bank shall be entitled to the immediate return of the Card in the event of _

  • Closure of the Designated Account,
  • Death of the Account/Card holder,
  • The Cardholder's authority to operate the Designated Account is terminated,
  • The Cardholder ceases to be a customer of the Bank,
  • The Bank requests for its return.
 

EXCLUSIONS AND EXCEPTIONS


Sonali Bank shall not be responsible or liable for any and all cardholder for any loss or damage incurred or suffered as a consequence of:

  • Any malfunction, defect, or error in any ATM, or other machines or system of authorization whether belonging to or operated by the Bank or otherwise.
  • Any delay or inability of the Bank to perform any of its obligations pursuant to this Agreement because of any mechanical, data processing, or telecommunication failure. Act of God, civil disturbance, or any event outside of the bank's control or as a consequence of any fraud or forgery.
  • Any damage to or loss of or inability to retrieve any data or information that may be stored in any Card howsoever caused.
  • Any undesired fraud and forgery by means of computer hacking or any means that cause any burden to the Cardholder.

DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION


Card Services of the Bank may disclose any information relating to any cardholder for any card account or card transaction to the Bank authority any regulatory body or any other person if the Bank considers its interest to do so.

MISCELLANEOUS


All rules and regulations governing the operations of current and savings accounts will be applicable to the Card transactions relating to such accounts.

  • The Bank may at any time change terms and conditions without prior notice to the Cardholder.

  • These Terms and Conditions will stand amended if such amendments are necessitated by law, government regulations, or instructions issued by the Bangladesh Bank.
  • All notifications and/or questions concerning the use of the Card should be directed to the Branch Manager of the Cardholder's branch or the Card Division.
  • The cardholder will not use this card for any illegal transaction or anything unlawful, under the laws of Bangladesh.
  • All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Bangladesh only.
  • In case of any disputes, notify the designated Branch within 45 (Forty-Five) days.

DECLARATION
